The successful applicant will have a strong record in clinical care and demonstrated ability to lead and communicate with other staff.
The patient care component will be on adult ICU and progressive care units and / or pediatric inpatient units.

Summary:
Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate clinical and non-clinical educational programs for HSC Operational Components.
Develop, train, and implement department competencies.
Develop and organize mentoring program for new grad and on-going in-service, CEU education and training for all staff including techs.
Assist employees with goal attainments as it relates to professional development.
Advance the departmental philosophy and culture of continuous improvement through mentorship and application of continous performance improvement principles.
Ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.

Responsibilities:
EDUCATION ASSESSMENT - Identify educational needs, practice gaps and issues of staff by collecting data and related information; analyze issues, trends, and supporting evidence to determine needs of individuals, departments, and the organization EDUCATION PLAN - Identify desired outcomes; in collaboration with others, develop instructional program(s) that prescribes education curricula, strategies, alternatives, and resources; take into account quality indicators and policies, procedures, guidelines; integrate research findings into plan INSTRUCTION - Implement the educational curricula utilizing adult learning principles to employ the most appropriate methodology(ies) to meet goals and objectives; teach relevant content; coordinate educational initiatives and activities; ensure safety and comfort and promote positive learning and practice environments; integrate ethics in all areas of practice OUTCOMES - Analyze educational program evaluations; monitor and evaluate progress toward attainment of goals; seek feedback from participants, other educators, and administrators; revise plans accordingly QUALITY - Maintain and systematically enhance the quality of instructional programs and effectiveness of educator; advocate for protection and rights of individuals, groups, and others PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE - Maintain current knowledge and competency in field of expertise and professional development practice; enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, and attending in-services; serve as a role model; maintain certification in specialty area; attend meetings and represent department or hospital on committees as assigned; provider leadership in the practice settings and the profession COLLABORATION - Establish collegial partnerships with other professionals, leaders, stakeholders, and others who contribute to the development of peers, staff, students, colleagues, and others; collaborate with individuals and groups to facilitate practice and promote quality outcomes; serve as a consultant and educational resource RESOURCE UTILIZATION - Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, efficiency, quantity, and cost in regard to instructional programs and desired outcomes; demonstrate achievement of productivity goals RECORDS - Maintain documentation and records of instructional programs as required by hospital policy and regulatory agencies; produce reports of educational programs by collecting statistical data for administrative and quality improvement purposes COMMUNICATION - Establish and maintain open and effective communication patterns with peers, colleagues, students, administrators, and others using the chain of command PATIENT CARE - Provide direct patient care as appropriate to profession and as outlined in the job description for the appropriate therapy CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEU) - Provide CEU contact hours for both Occupational and Physical Therapy staff; assist staff in developing CEU courses; obtain necessary CEU certifications; facilitate/organize hosting of outside CEU providers PATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols PATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes PATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk PATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner PATIENT SAFETY 5 - Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may not seem rightQualificationsEducation:
